Lex Enables VT Education and Skills To Become ‘Fleet Heroes’ After Winning National Award For Green Company Car Scheme
VT Education and Skills (VTE&S) is the largest work-based learning provider in the UK. The organisation delivers learning programmes to over 18,000 learners nationwide and work with over 6,000 employers. Through high quality delivery of training, and working in partnership with learners, employers, government and industry bodies, VTE&S aims to improve the work skills of young people and adults throughout the UK.
Lex’s work with the Education and Skills division of major support services company, VT Group, began in June 2007, when discussions took place to plan a strategy, which as an end result would see VTE&S’ reliance on their ‘grey fleet’ drastically reduced. As a parallel to reducing CO2 emissions, the reduction in ‘grey fleet’ would enable VT to offer a car as part of the salary package which would better retain staff, and also meet the company’s obligations regarding duty of care.
Commenting on VT’s success at the Energy Saving Trust’s annual Fleet Hero Awards, Graham Harper, Strategic Account Manager, Lex said: “we are delighted that VT has scooped the award for ‘Grey fleet champion’. The award illustrates the benefits that businesses should take when reducing their grey fleet; lowering CO2, improved employee retention and complying with duty of care responsibilities. All of us at Lex that worked on helping VT achieve those standards offer warm congratulations.”
Mark Mardell, Supply Chain Director at VT Education and Skills said: “We have worked closely with Lex and are thoroughly grateful for their advice and commitment which has enabled us to implement the changes to our grey fleet. Winning the award is a fantastic result and Lex’s involvement should not be understated.”
