Core Placement Description

Placement Area: Driver Services

Placement Manager: Associate Director, Operations Delivery

Placement Location: Primarily Heathside Park, Stockport - due to the nature of the assignment, some travelling would be required

Placement Duration: 3 months (any time of year)

Placement Outline and Development Opportunities:

  • Driver Services is one of Lex's largest departments and contains a diverse range of business areas such as Maintenance and Customer Care. This placement would expose colleagues to the day to day workings of each area so they experience life in these areas and gain an appreciation for the roles and responsibilities in them. To consolidate what colleagues learn, a cross-functional project would also need to be completed, details of which are in the specific placement objectives below.
  • The Placement Manager would be the Associate Director, Operations Delivery.

Generic Placement Objectives:

  • Deliver quality, day to day services to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Where appropriate, manage and delegate workload in the team to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Support and guide team members where appropriate.

Specific Placement Objectives:

  • Research, write and present a report to the Driver Services Senior Management Team on how an out of hours LCV network can be established.
  • The report should include the costs of the solution, together with the associated risks and benefits.
  • In addition, a customer communications plan should be included in line with the final recommendations.

Placement Performance and Development Measures:

  • Achievement of objectives outlined above.
  • Monthly one-to-one's.
  • End of placement review.
